Email support@beenie.app. It is a small operation — one person — so a reply may take a day or two, but every message is read.
When something has gone wrong with a specific recipe, the most useful thing you can send is the web address it came from, or a screenshot of what it looked like after importing. That is usually enough to find the problem.
Common questions
Do I need an account?
No. Beenie has no account and no server. It opens straight into an empty library.
How do I get my recipes in?
Four ways: type one in, paste one from a message, import one from a web page, or photograph a page from a cookbook. All four land on the same review screen before anything is saved, so you can fix what the app got wrong.
Why did a recipe import badly?
Beenie reads a page's structured recipe data where the page has it, and falls back to reading the text where it does not. Some pages have neither. The original text of every ingredient line is always kept, so nothing is lost — tap an ingredient to see what the source actually said.
Does it sync?
Yes, across your own devices, free, through your own iCloud. There is nothing to set up beyond being signed in to iCloud.
What does the $4.99 buy?
Sharing your household with someone else — the same recipes, the same plan, the same grocery list, with a tick in the aisle showing up on the other phone. It is bought once by whoever sets it up, and the person invited never pays. Everything else in Beenie is free.
Why does the grocery list show two amounts on one row?
Because they cannot honestly be added. Two pounds of tomatoes and one cup of tomatoes are not three of anything, so Beenie shows both rather than inventing a conversion. A wrong grocery amount is worse than a tidy one.
Can I use it on an iPad or a Mac?
Not yet. Beenie is an iPhone app today.
How do I delete everything?
Settings → Clear all data.
